Founded in 1998, Airwire.net, Inc. is a privately held company based in Melbourne, Florida.  Airwire began by building a wireless network and offering commercial local loop services in several mid-sized cities.  The premise was that properly deployed and managed wireless technology could deliver broadband Internet, data, voice and video for businesses and finally offer a reliable and cost effective alternative to traditional ISP’s and the telephone company.  In April 1999, the company expanded by launching the 2^nd phase of its wireless footprint in Orlando, FL. 

Also in 1999, the company opened up a 6,000 square foot Network Operations Center (NOC) and co-location facility also in Melbourne.  Airwire’s NOC is designed to ensure 24 x 7 network availability in an environmentally controlled facility. The secured facility offers customers high capacity bandwidth and an array of network services in a fully peered network environment.  The Company's customer care center also operates from the NOC.

In 2004 Airwire’s services are available throughout Central Florida, specifically the following counties:  Brevard, Orange, Seminole and Osceola. Airwire continues to expand in Central Florida by growing the network footprint and intensifying coverage in the existing footprint.
